of Valley High school. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada,
Las Vegas in 1991. He is employed with Magic Brite Janitorial, one of Nevada’s largest
minority owned firms according to “Top Rank of Nevada, Book of Lists. MBJ was selected
Business of the Year on March 29, 2002 by the Nevada Minority Purchasing Council and
Business of the Year finalist by Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce on September 13, 2003. He
successfully lobbied into the Small Business Administration 8(a) Minority Development
Program in 1996. He was awarded Entrepreneur Award on September 12, 2004 by the Las
Vegas Latin Chamber of Commerce. Robert is a second generation Latin Chamber member.
Robert has been a member of the Latin Chamber of Commerce for numerous years. He
currently serves as Secretary Treasurer on the LVLCC Executive Board and as Chairman of the
Business Development Committee. Under his leadership, the Business Development
Committee assisted chamber members in receiving over $15,000,000 in procurements for
2004, maintained a certified minority venders list, developed a loan program exclusively for
chamber members, and held Business Educational seminars designed to educate and
increase the capacity levels of Chamber members. He and his wife, Susan, have three
children. A few of Robert’s community activities include membership in the Las Vegas Social
register and Boy Scouts of America.
